Terms of Service
About the service
Reads available camera counters from photo metadata. An image count may be shown as an estimate when a shutter count is unavailable. The service is provided as a free browser-based utility. These terms describe its intended use and limitations. Use the tool only if you agree to these terms.
Your files and responsibilities
You retain ownership of your files. Selecting a file does not grant the service a license to publish or reuse it. Only inspect or modify files you are entitled to use, and respect privacy, copyright and other applicable rights.
You are responsible for deciding what to share and for checking any result or saved output. Keep backups of important originals. Do not use the tool for unlawful purposes or to interfere with the website or other users.
Results and format limitations
Support depends on the file format, readable metadata, file condition and browser capabilities. Metadata can be missing, inaccurate, modified or unsupported. The tool may fail, time out or provide incomplete results.
A counter may include electronic exposures, have been reset or have a model-specific meaning. Estimates are not verified mechanical shutter counts. Missing metadata does not mean the count is zero. Do not rely on a result alone when buying, selling or valuing a camera.
The service does not verify the authenticity of a file or its metadata. It does not replace professional technical, security or legal advice.
Local processing and privacy
Selected files are processed locally, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Your original file is not overwritten by the application. Any output you choose to save is a separate copy.
Availability and warranties
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the extent permitted by applicable law. No promise is made that it will always be available, error-free, compatible with every file or suitable for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, liability for losses resulting from reliance on tool results, unsupported formats or use of saved outputs is excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Third-party components and links
The tool uses ExifTool and WebAssembly components subject to their respective licenses. Included license notices continue to apply. Third-party documentation is provided for reference; its availability and content are outside this tool's control.
Changes
Features and these terms may change. Updated terms apply to use after the update; they do not retrospectively change rights that arose earlier.
